Learn about lovely liners

British Passenger Liners in Colour – the 1950s,'60s and Beyond, by William H Miller

book_British_Passenger_Liners_border.jpgThis photographic retrospective recollects a bygone era in passenger shipping, when the British-flagged passenger fleet spanned the world from Southampton to South America.

British Passenger Liners looks at vessels from the 1950s onwards – all in alphabetical order. From Bibby Line to Saga Cruises, each has a write-up and some lovely colour photos.

Experienced cruise historian William H Miller seems to have embarked on this most recent ocean liner collection after attending an evocative Cunard Line anniversary event in New York (Pier 61) in 2014. Nautilus members may also have spotted him visiting Cunard's Queen Mary 2 in Southampton in 2022. So his knowledge is both thorough and up-to-date, and this attractive book would be good gift for classic cruise fans.
