Our STCW Advanced Fire fighting training is meant for the leader of the Fire Fighting team or the leader of the emergency rescue team on board of a ship.

About the course

The advanced Fire Fighting is a component module of the MCA Chief Mate (Yachts less than 3000gt) certification. This four-day course builds on basic fire knowledge, awareness and safety procedures on board. It includes elements of command and control together with the importance of stability and ship integrity. The course is structured around a number of practical searches, rescue techniques, casualty evacuation practices and live fire exercises.

Chief Mate (Yachts less than 3000gt)

Prerequisites

Hold a Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2) certificate.
Six months must have elapsed since completing the Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2) course.

Assessment

The course is examined by continual assessment. This course is based on the Merchant Navy Training Board Syllabus approved by the MCA.
