We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mac McGill, the long time master of the Putford Guardian, on 2 April. Mac was a highly respected member of the maritime community known for his skill, professionalism and love of music. He had a terrific sense of humour that always kept his colleagues entertained and earned him a devoted following among the North Sea community.
A funeral service will be held in North Devon Crematorium and we invite his friends and former colleagues to attend the service, which will also be available online. However, on Captain's orders please avoid wearing black to honour Mac's wishes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local cancer charity Over and Above.
The funeral date is still to be set, but if you might like to attend, please contact me on the email address below.
