John Davies, a former Council member of Nautilus predecessor union NUMAST, the NUMAST Welfare Fund, and later the Nautilus Welfare Fund Charity Committee, has died.
Mr Davies had been retired from his roles for some time, but his contribution to the governance of the Union and the charity was deeply appreciated. He was a long-standing member of Nautilus International and its predecessor unions, having joined in 1961. He had been a member for nearly 62 years.
He is also remembered for his many contributions to the development of Mariners' Park and his passion for ensuring the needs of seafarers and their dependants were met.
