Diversity at sea, is the theme of the International Maritime Organization (IMO's) photography competition in honour of Black History Month in October 2024.
IMO has invited photo submissions to highlight unique perspectives on maritime life. Whether capturing diverse crews at port cities, or the daily experiences of maritime professionals worldwide, crew are encouraged to submit their interpretation of diversity at sea by the deadline for submissions of 5 September 2024.
This is soon after Merchant Navy Day in the UK which celebrates the raising of the Red Ensign on public and government buildings on 3 September.
Winners from the IMO photo competition will be announced on 11 October 2024 during an IMO Black History Month panel event.
The top three submissions will win a selection of GoPro action cameras.
The winning entries, along with a selection of highly commended submissions, will also be displayed online and in-person in physical displays at the IMO headquarters in London.
Find out the competition guidelines and how to submit on the IMO website.
