Nautilus members concerned about the challenges they face as maritime professionals and with ideas for change are being invited to stand for the Union's governing body, the Council.
The nomination process for the Nautilus International Council elections opens on 1 August 2022. This election is for placement on the Council of 2023. The elections are held at least every 5 years. This election is for all 32 council positions across all branches.
The Council is the Union's governing body. It is composed of 32 serving maritime professionals in addition to the Union's elected General Secretary, each serving up to a five-year term of office. Any full member of Nautilus International can stand for election to the Council, as long as they follow the formal nomination process, which involves securing the support of other full members from within their branch.
Council members are elected by eligible full members, to represent all members. However, they are categorised to ensure that the demography of the Council is reflective of the membership of the Union. A breakdown of these categories can be found below.
The nomination process is now online. Click here to submit your nomination to be part of the Council and send your supporters a link via email to confirm their support of your nomination.
Completed nominations must be received by 17.00 UK Time on Monday 28 November 2022.
The Council is also the Trustee of the Nautilus Welfare Fund, which is the registered charity administered by Nautilus.
