The Professional and Technical Forum deals with a wide range of technical, safety, welfare and other professional topics of relevance to all members, including training and certification.
At this session of the P&T Forum, we'll be looking ahead to the Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW 12) which will be taking place at the IMO on the 23rd to 27th February. This meeting will mark the first time that the IMO will consider concrete proposals for amendments to STCW having previously identified more than 400 'gaps' to be addressed in the current text. Almost 200 submissions have been received for consideration for HTW 12, so there will be plenty to discuss. We will look at some of the key proposals with members being invited to discuss the merits and provide feedback.
The meeting will be held online via Microsoft Teams. Members are sent a registration link, and after they register they then will be sent a joining link.
There will also be updates ongoing workstreams as well as a general discussion where members can raise any matters of concern that they may have. (It would be helpful if topics could be notified in advance by emailing: PTechnical@Nautilusint.org).
All full members of the Union are welcome to attend (UK, NL and CH).
