This is a unique role within an equally unique organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of on-board maintenance of electrical systems, electronic and navigational equipment including DP equipment and ocean bed survey equipment, ensuring that all repairs and servicing is carried out to the highest standards. This role offers ample variety including aid to navigation maintenance / trouble shooting – so you must be keen to build your knowledge and skills as you shape the role around your own aspirations. The ability to quickly get to grips with new technology is also important.

Qualified to HND Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronic Engineering / NVQ Level 3 in Merchant Vessel Engineering or equivalent level, you should also hold the GMDSS Radio Maintenance Certificate, the Electronic Navigation Equipment Maintenance Certificate, Approved High Voltage training. A Watch keeping Electro Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (III/6) or Engineer Officers Certificate of Competency (III/I) would be desirable. A valid ENG 1 medical certificate is essential.
