Stream Marine Training are delighted to be expanding our technical training team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the UK’s largest short course training provider in Maritime.

Stream Marine are an industry leading maritime training provider and have delivered the world’s first IGF code training to several major corporations across the cruise, ferry and dry bulk markets for ships fuelled under the IGF code.

We are offering the right individual an opportunity to be part of this exciting global fuel revolution. This role means working with industry leaders and stakeholders and assisting to lead the industry in competency training for the future.

The Perfect Candidate

You will be a qualified senior marine engineer having served currently or in the past on a gas cargo or fuelled vessel. With experience in handling a gas related product and cryogenic systems. This position will best suit an ambitious motivated individual who is looking for continuous learning and career development opportunities.

Duties

As an IGF Code Instructor your key responsibilities will include:

  • Data gathering on the new LNG fuelled ships currently being built globally.
  • Delivering training to Technical Officers and other ship-board staff.
  • Developing training courses for staff working on LNG fuelled ship and ships fuelled under the IGF code.
  • Processing of course module plans into various presentation systems (IT and electronic hardware).
  • Preparing course material, including hardware and simulators.
  • Cross referencing course outcomes with current regulatory requirements.
  • Updating staff knowledge on LNG best practices.
  • Organising and updating LNG course development and administration.

Requirements and skills

  • Communicator– Must be able to communicate clearly with verbal and written proficiency in English.
  • Listener - Can take on-board and analytically process verbal messages, by observing responses and further questioning.
  • Responsible – Must always have the needs, priorities, and goals of the organisation in mind and be accountable for their own actions when meeting agreements.
  • Conceptual – Should be able to translate complex information into understandable formats.
  • Computer literate – A quick learner who is able to use software and electronic equipment.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK

Details

Full-time hours: 40 per week

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary - dependant on experience
