Marine Electrotech Engineer – Marico Marine

Marico Marine is an innovative consultancy which also supplies, installs and supports port VTS systems both in the UK and abroad. Marico has offices in Southampton (New Forest), Bristol and Wellington, New Zealand. We have a vacancy for a permanent position of Technical Support Engineer.

You will likely be presently serving at sea or in a marine ETO role (technical and electronics installation and support), or possibly in a military role. You must be happy to travel for deployment, with a track record of installing, commissioning and problem-solving of marine electronic sensors and the networks on which they reside.

Provided you can demonstrate both expertise and a track record, the position is open to candidates who may be seeking their first position ashore after seagoing service. You will likely have a record of UK based training, with current certificates available, e.g. C&G.

The role will include specification and design of systems for a VTS solution, involving with the latest of radars, VHF systems and VTS software packages.

Based out of our Bristol office, travel throughout the UK and overseas, or remote support.  You will be demonstrably eligible to reside in the UK, with excellent command of English, both written and technical.  You will liaise directly with port clients in VTS centres or senior management, so your professional demenior and willingness to go that extra mile will be sought after attributes. The role reports to our senior VTS installation engineer.

Excellent renumeration and 10% pension contributions once permanency is confirmed.
