Memorial service to be held on 50th anniversary of Royston Grange disaster
25 February 2022
On 11 May 1972, the UK-flagged Houlder Line refrigerated cargo liner Royston Grange collided with the tanker Tien Chee in the Río de la Plata. The resulting fire killed all 74 people aboard Royston Grange and eight people aboard Tien Chee.
This year will see the 50th anniversary of the tragedy, and to remember our friends and family members who were onboard, there will be a service of commemoration at All Hallows by the Tower in London on 11 May 2022.
If you would like to attend the memorial service, please contact Alison Booth at alisalon65@hotmail.com or David Watkins at davidcbwatkins@hotmail.co.uk. There is also a Facebook group you can join by searching on the site for Royston Grange.
