In a strong field of entries from across the UK trade union movement, Nautilus International has been recognised for its social media work by the TUC at its 46th Trade Union Communication Awards.
The Union was highly commended in the Best Use of Social Media category for its online campaign work during the P&O Ferries crisis. This was announced at a ceremony held in London on 18 July 2023.
During the days after P&O Ferries sacked hundreds of maritime professionals, including many Nautilus members, Nautilus reached hundreds of thousands of people on social media, as well as key influencers including journalists and politicians.
In recent years, Nautilus's member magazine Telegraph has been twice named as top Trade Union Journal by the judges and in 2021 Nautilus was also commended for its regularly-updated FAQ to support members during the Covid-19 pandemic.
