Nautilus members can now catch up with the latest advice on making a move ashore with the aid of professional development and further training.
The recent Sea to City webinar on making the sustainable move ashore heard from third officer Ross Cleland on how further education helped him standout from the crowd when applying for a coveted role aboard an international cruise operator.
During the pandemic, Ross completed a Sustainable Maritime Operations BSc Hons from MLA College, whilst maintaining operations onboard. That enabled him to go on to further study and he is now completing a Batchelor of Law.
Professor Basak Akdemir, chief executive officer at MLA College, explained how the college was set up to support serving seafarers and maritime professionals. All course work can be downloaded for completion offline and students have a named tutor who they can call on for support no matter where they are in the world.
MLA College is currently offering Nautilus members discounted rates on several of its courses. Interested members can visit the MLA website or hear further information via the webinar link.
