The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is conducting a review on substantially equivalent crew accommodation on large yachts.
There are equivalences for crew accommodation for large commercial yachts up to 5000gt. Yachts larger that this have been looked at on a case-by-case basis by the Tripartite Working Group consisting of government, shipowners and seafarer representatives.
As yachts are increasing in size, the application of substantial equivalence is being reviewed and the MCA is asking for seafarers' experiences.
The survey can be found here.
The deadline for responses is 13 August 2021.
