Building work is now underway at Nautilus Mariners' Park for the Union's award-winning project in the northwest of England – a combined complex of additional seafarer retirement apartments and new head office.
Groundwork on the combined office and residents' apartments scheme started on 17 July 2023. This stripped the site behind the current Nautilus House office – formerly the John Davies Infirmary – to make way for 27 apartments and the Union's new head office building. It will have views of the River Mersey in Wallasey, UK.
John Turner Construction Group are the builders working towards a completion date of August 2024.
The multi-million investment in Mariners' Park won Nautilus Regional Deal of the Year in the 2022 Mersey Maritime Industry Awards. Judges deemed this strategy for growth to be the most significant deal in the maritime industry within the Liverpool City Region and greater North West within that year. The award recognised Nautilus as best in class for investing in jobs and services in the greater Merseyside area.
Below are some timelapse images of the work done so far, an artist's impression of the completed complex and a timelapse video.
